Boßlertunnel (Stuttgart–Ulm / Stuttgart 21) – Baden-Württemberg

Description

The Boßlertunnel is one of the key engineering structures of the Wendlingen–Ulm high-speed rail line and an integral part of the Stuttgart–Ulm rail project. The tunnel enables the efficient crossing of the Swabian Alb and forms a critical backbone for high-speed rail traffic in southern Germany.

Project Overview

  • Structure type: Twin-bore railway tunnel
  • Total length: approx. 8.8 km
  • Construction method Mechanised tunnelling using Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM)
  • Use: Long-distance and high-speed rail traffic
  • Design speed: up to 250 km/h
  • Project characteristics Large-scale infrastructure project with demanding geological conditions, high schedule and cost pressure, and complex interfaces between tunnelling, fit-out works and railway systems

Scope of Services

Project Management and Project Controlling with a focus on schedule and cost control, reporting, interface management, and support in risk and claims management within a highly complex technical and organisational project environment.
